On June 3, the Canada Industrial Relations Board certified ALPA as the representative for Lynx Air pilots, joining more than 74,000 pilots at now 41 Canadian and U.S. airlines. Congratulations to all pilots and to the Lynx Air ALPA Organizing Committee. The committee worked very hard and ran an extremely positive campaign. And they certainly demonstrated that they are pro-Lynx Air, pro-pilot, and pro-ALPA!
Now that ALPA is the official representative, an ALPA structure will be established at Lynx Air right away. The first step will be for ALPA’s vice president–administration/secretary, Capt. Tyler Hawkins, to appoint Lynx Air pilots who will serve as temporary representatives. The names of those representatives will be shared immediately following their appointment, which will take place very soon.
The next step (in approximately 60 to 90 days) will be elections for permanent representatives and officers. Pilots who submitted a membership card and $5.00 during the drive, will be an ALPA member right away and will soon receive an ALPA number. Those who did not complete a membership card during the campaign will receive more information soon on how to submit ALPA's membership application.
The Lynx Air pilots proved it is indeed your time! And now "It’s Time" for all Lynx Air pilots to get to work and make your voices heard. Welcome aboard.
